SableWear™ is a broad spectrum fashion brand founded by singer-songwriter, Sable Winters. At an early age, Sable fantasized about being a fashion designer inspired by her mother’s sewing room. As a preteen, she was encouraged to make her first dress design from scratch using her mother’s Singer sewing machine, which turned out to be a hit at school. Along the side of singing alto and mezzo-soprano as a high school student, Sable excelled at sewing class and after graduating immediately enrolled in design school. There she learned the craft of illustration, pattern making, fabric profiling, and garment construction. Though the art of fashion design was temporarily set aside for professional, family, and other creative endeavors, her passion for beautiful fashions never truly waned. The walls of her first sewing room were plastered ceiling to flow with Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) pages for motivation and inspiration. Fast forward.

The trade name “SableWear™” was officially applied for through the United States Patent and Trademark Office on July 22, 2019. It denotes the marriage of her first name with merchandise that could be worn to express and share her personal style. The brand represents the visual aspects of her original music style of fusion jazz, funk, and soul. The brand offers contemporary and couture designs, as well as partnered hand-selected fine fashion exclusively for women and juniors.
